Summer is Here!!!

after the confusion of the snow blizzard and all the rain i was actually convinced that summer would elude us this year but luckly today it arrived, with a perfect day, in which with the newly convertable landy we...(ash darc, luke and i) took the boat out and all nearly died of sunstroke on the wakey lakey.... but it feels nice to be able to leave the windows open, welcome summer i have missed you and look forward to your stay.

London

Its not Lake Wakatipu and Coronet Peak, but not bad eh!!

Angel's addition!!

Well with a bit of emotional blackmail, guilt and cunningness, I've managed to convince my very cool brother Ashley and lovely sister Sasha that I should be on the blog too! Its a way we can keep track of each other and convince ourselves that other find our lives interesting enough to look up whats going on!!

So, Life in London is amazing! I love it! I have fantastic friends, a crusie job as a photographer in a studio in Richmond, I have a sweet as digs, (all with great flatmates included!) A calling I love with Stake YSA/Institue..

I do miss NZ and my fam, but for now.. this is home.

Poem of the Week - #8

The poem of the week, this week, (incase you missed it) is the sixth stanza of Keat's 'Ode to a Nightingale'

"Darkling i listen and for many a time
I have been half in love with easful death
Call'd him soft names in many a mused rhyme
To take into the air my quiet breath
And now more than ever seems it rich to die
To cease upon the midnight with no pain
While thou art pouring forth thy soul abroud
In such esctacy!
Still wilt thou sing and i have ears in vain
To thy high requiem become a sod"

Beach Goodness

so its finally hot and nice here in little ol' christchurch so we took a much needed trip to the beach,
sun, sand and mr. flippy, made for a good day......

the cutest kid in the world...

I know what you are all thinking this is where i would put photos of myself, but i am still to locate all my lost baby photos, so for now you will have to settle for the second cutest kid in the world...

his name is Hibiki kun... anyway becuase i am his favourite missionary ever (yea he is two and still remembers and writes to me....gosh i leave an impression hahaha) i thaught i will put a little shrine on hrere...hahaha, actually now he is a little kid model, so if he becomes famous i think i should be his manager or something....

so here you are HIBIKI.....

Ryo is Leaving :(

well... Ryo is here, and he has been here for about 6 weeks, and unfortunitly he is heading home...mmm sad, but thats cool cos he will be back..

its been cool having my little (or at least little compared to my buffness) marfia buddy here... its been fun.... nihongo to yutara...sugoikatta yo!!!!

so as a homage to my buddy ryo, its been cool bro.... and untill next time..may the gods watch over you..

Peace..

sash's return...

as most of you know, i will soon be returning to queenstown after a grueling semster....lol
yes ive worked very hard... but queenstown here i come, the lake and the wakeboard have been awaiting me and i shall not disappoint them....luckly my new found knowledge of Childrens literature will help my backflip significantly...

Initial D

so weve been watching inital d and decided that "...everyone must find their own world Takumi, and i think racing is yours..."
and will start a drift racing team to beat all others.... yes its brilliant.

Randomness

so just chilling in christchurch,
writing essays, pretending to study....as you can see.
ive realised that no one looks at our blog as its no where near as cool as mike and chris's
but alas, perhaps we should change it to be a giles blog where we each put our own photos and stuff on so we can see what eachother is doing?
well you can see what im doing.......lol studying hard.

the wanaka puzzle mission

with the arrival of the evil twin from christchurch giles-styles had to entertain in absolute form, lets not forget we have a perfect reputation to uphold..
so in the heat of a moment, we jumped into the trusty BEEMER and by the not so trusty hand of sasha cruised over the mountain to wanaka, and that my good listeners is when all the antics began.

We arrived at the world famous puzzle world with the full intention to beat all previous maze records, we had our puma tracksuits and nike running shoes, we were a force to be reconed with, all except for the fact that puzzels are not something giles-styles are actually good at. (short attention spans).

so we looked toward the evil twin, (kla) for direction only to discover that she too is puzzle illiterate, and so we started off.. red tower, then green, yellow, and finally the blue, time was looking good, all we had to do was get out, and thats when the s**t hit the fan.

it seams that mazes are harder to get out of than in to, so 45 min latter we emeerged the master and commanders of the wanaka maze, and ash only had to cheet once, a new state record....

being quite parched from our excersion we paused for refreshments, which turned nasty as a not so innocent comment left michaela covered in cream, but all in all a perfect day

Sasha's England

dec04-jan05
with my best friend Kate in tow, I headed off to England for 6 weeks with Angelina.
we did everything, ate Ben and Jerrys, discovered Crispy Cremes and generally ate and got fat.
meandered along the streets of London , Paris and Cafilli an unforgettable experiance

The Landy Adventure

It was a cool black night and ben brought a new landy, so naturally, ash, mike, chris, mim (the random friend) and I decieded the only thing to be done was to venture to masetown.....

the raw power of the desiel landy was great, unfortunatly too much for the exuhast bracket which managed to work its way off.
fortunatly mike and ash are geniouses, and managed to brew together a little boatie meets macgiver coctail, and it held its own all the way back.

once we reached the deserted destination of mace town we were greated by a fellow landy driver and a bunch of rich townies, in their $70,000 dollar machine, we were not detered though, the landy continued on...

a few kms up the rever and we found a deserted mine complete with an orignal battery, not that i really know what a battery is, becuase it dident look anything like the one i use in my MP3 player.

After the battery everything else could compare, and as time, like always, wasnt on our side we headed back to civilization. with our guide enlightening us on the advantages of high country farms we made our way through some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

on the home stretch our trusty driver decieded that the river was a much better option than the road, which indeed it was, untill we had to get back up a shingle mound, which infront of two smith wearing legacy drivers, the landy decided it didnt want to do. after three failed attempts we continued on our merry way down the river into Arrowtown centre.

And then she stopped.
Right in the middle of the road The Landy said no im tired and refused to move, and now she sits at the machjanics recovering.

We like to think of her as the Titanic, so powerful, undestructable, even God himself could not stop The Landy and so to humble us the brake line is locked and the fuel line needs bleeding, so in the meantime we continue to sing....

"In the Landy,
you can sail the 7 seas,
In the Landy....."
